Since the Club’s beginnings, solidarity and responsibility have always been in the DNA of our founding principles. That is why we work hard to continue promoting this line of action and structure it as one of the foundations of our project.
Over the last few years, we have been very active in carrying out collaborations with various associations and NGOs, as well as getting involved in our territory by supporting children, youth and the elderly in Les 3 Viles with different actions at our Club.
El Balís, in its desire to continue collaborating with the environment and with the conviction that a great deal of work must be done in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility as a 21st-century organisation, is committed to actions along 3 different axes.
Work on reducing the amount of generated waste, as well as educating groups on environmental preservation through talks and clean-up/awareness actions.
Throughout our recent history, this has been an axis that has left its mark on the Club’s actions, from fire prevention to changes in the port’s lighting.
At the El Balís Yacht Club, we believe in equality as a way of delving deeper into the practice of a
democratic society that is also fairer, more cohesive and better developed.
For this reason, with the purpose of establishing a framework of specific actions that ensure equal opportunities between men and women, we have developed an Equality Plan. In addition, at the Club we have a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment.
Attention to groups with physical or mental disabilities as well as with difficulties of social integration and lack of resources, offering a framework of leisure and training in the practice of sports that helps with their development as people who are part of our environment.
Some examples of actions carried out in this area are: daytime activities for child patients at the Sant Joan de Déu hospital, the Vela.cat “Infants i Veles” programme or the scholarship for sports activities in schools.
